Chocolate Cornflake Chunks

Food isn’t just a way to survive, it’s also a perfect method to bond with other people. In every family, there are different things that remind you of home. In my case, it’s my grandmother’s famous Christmas cake she makes every single year and my dad’s spaghetti sauce, just to name a few. But it are also these chocolate cornflake rocks, who were first made by a family friend.

We all love these simple but extremely delicious nibbles, and the fact that we always get these as a gift makes them even more special. When some of my friends were over last week and someone tried these, I figured I had to share these with you all. She loved them just as much as I do and I’m convinced you will too. These are also a perfect gift to bring with you if you don’t have a lot of time (or when you don’t want to put too much work in it).

The only thing these babies need is some cooling time in the fridge, so you can’t make them just 20 minutes in advance. They do keep a ridiculously long time in the fridge, so feel free to make a gigantich batch. Also, feel free to make these just for yourself, because a little chocolate a day is the only way to survive. And definitely now exams are getting closer, large quantities of chocolate are in order. So if you want to win over the hearts of your chocolate loving friends, give these a go!

Ingredients
  • 1 block of chocolate
  • unsweetened cornflakes, the quantity will depend on the amount of chocolate you have.
Melt the block of chocolate. It's up to you whether you want to do it au bain marie or in the microwave. Both are good!

Once your chocolate is melted, add the cornflakes in. Don't add in too much right away, you can always add more if needed. Stir through until all cornflakes are covered in chocolate.

Line a muffin tin with liners. If you don't have a muffin tin, use 2 muffin liners so they will hold their shape. Place them in the fridge until they have completely set. Enjoy!
