It's that time of the year again. Most stores are getting out their Christmas stuff by now, but in Belgium & Holland there's another holiday squished in between. Sinterklaas! It's the day of truth for children, because only the ones who have been good all year will be receiving gifts and sweets. Tomorrow, Sinterklaas will be arriving in Antwerp with tons of marzipan, kruidnoten and mandarins. So what is more appropriate to celebrate his arrival than baking with it?

Although I'm not as often in Antwerp anymore, I'm still looking for the best places to eat & drink. I love coffee to keep me awake and since I have a lot of early morning classes in Namur, I was in need of a great coffee spot! I'm going to be honest with you immediately: I'm proud of these cookies. I was planning on making something completely different (hint: it also contains chocolate), but due to not having enough time, that will come up next week! From time to time, I just need to bake. It usually happens once in 1 - 2 weeks and no matter what I have to do then, I just feel like baking! Yesterday was such a day.
